MIKA SUSHI is a full-service sushi restaurant nestled in the quiet Carmel Valley neighborhood, offering a fusion of authentic Japanese and Korean flavors. Its location at 9 Del Fino Place makes it a convenient spot for locals and visitors looking for a calm, pleasant dining experience away from busier commercial centers.

The atmosphere is a blend of casual and refined, with seating options that include a covered, dog-friendly courtyard where the California sun filters softly through, making it an inviting choice for afternoon or early evening meals. Inside, the vibe turns cozier and more intimate, suitable for smaller groups or a relaxed dinner out.

The menu is thoughtfully curated with fresh, high-quality seafood and a breadth of options that span traditional sushi rolls, sashimi combos, and heartier Korean-inspired dishes like beef bulgogi and spicy pork. Regulars tend to appreciate the freshness of the fish—the yellowtail and sashimi deliver that clear, clean taste expected from well-sourced seafood. For those interested in a balanced meal, the bento boxes and sushi combos provide a well-rounded selection that suits a variety of appetites.

MIKA SUSHI stands out for combining Japanese classics like the Tonkotsu ramen and Nabeyaki Udon, with Korean elements, including dishes with spicy Korean chili paste sauces, catering to diners craving something beyond sushi. This cultural blend resonates with people who enjoy exploring Asian cuisines without hopping between separate establishments.

Service tends to be attentive without being intrusive, supporting a comfortable and relaxed pace of dining. Many visitors come during weekends and early weekday evenings, often choosing to dine in the outdoor courtyard when weather permits, which enhances the meal with a gentle breeze and soft lighting.

Overall, MIKA SUSHI suits those who appreciate fresh, authentic flavors delivered in a straightforward, tidy setting. It’s a reliable option for families, small groups, or couples looking for a sushi meal that also offers the chance to sample Korean dishes within the same visit.

We ordered Poke bowl and Chirashi. The fish and vegetables were all fresh and delicious. It was good to put Spicy Sauce (Korean chilly paste based sauce) in the Poke bowl. Fried vegetables were crunchy. The restaurant was neat, well organized and the atmosphere was really good. We all had a great time

Visited on 7/3/25 with my family. We were seated promptly in the covered courtyard once we arrived (very dog-friendly!). There is also seating available indoors with a cozier vibe. The service here is impeccable, and the food is delicious, fresh, and authentic. The menu contains a great mixture of Japanese and Korean cuisine. I highly recommend the sashimi combination; the quality is amazing, and the price too! Overall, this place is a must-visit for anyone looking for delicious Japanese and Korean food in Carmel!

If you’re craving Korean food and solid sushi I recommend! AUTHENTIC KOREAN FLAVOR! I’m born and raised in Korea, vacationing here in Carmel Valley Ranch. I was craving some Asian food. Surprised to find nagasaki jjampong on the menu and I was expecting the white broth one that I see at pochas in Korea, but it actually was the red Korean jjampong. I was slightly sad but that took a quick turn and I was very happy with it because it was so authentic, so good with lots of seafood in it. Sushi was also great and overall super great price! Highly recommend.

Excellent....the yellowtail that came out had fresh bright red meat from the skin side...I usually only get that when I get the fish myself. Very fresh

Exceptional. Tasty fresh fish on the sushi. First time having the Hamachi Kama (fish collar), definitely recommend it. We were seated right away, very warm welcome. The server was prompt and knowledgeable. All in all the hospitality and quality of food was amazing. We will be back.

Beautiful atrium/courtyard area is bright, spacious and the acoustics are quiet even with all the tables full. The sushi is, well let's say: "Amazing sushi" phonetically in Japanese, you could say: Sugoi (すごい) = amazing, incredible "Yabai! Osushi!" (やばい)is slang and context-dependent, but in this case, it means something like "insanely good!" or "crazy delicious!" The service is kind courteous and attentive and the owners are friendly and welcoming. We moved nearby recently and this is one of our new favorite places. Also the prices are very reasonable, great starters and a good selection of local . 5 stars all around.
